Gerald R. Wanderlick, 69 of 44 Tully Road died Wednesday, November 15, 2006 in Quabbin Valley Healthcare, Athol.
He was born in Johnston, NY, on June 10, 1937, the son of the late Joseph and the late Ella (Long) Wanderlick.
Gerald served in the U.S. Navy from from March, 1956 to November, 1957 as an electrician. He worked at Amherst College and Kingsbury Machine in Keene, NH. Gerald enjoyed the woods, splitting wood, playing baseball and softball.
He leaves his wife of 49 years, Joan (Hine) Wanderlick; one daughter, Iris L. (Wanderlick) Prue of Athol; three sons, Blaine R. Wanderlick of Athol, Jeffrey E. Wanderlick of Merrimack, NH, and Christopher Wanderlick of Orange; one sister, Lucille F. Johnston of NY; four grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
He was predeceased by his son, John S. Wanderlick, who died in 1989.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 20, 2006 at 12:00 p.m. in the J. Edward Murphy Funeral Home, 137 Main St., Athol. Burial will follow in Tully Cemetery, Orange.
Calling hours will be held Sunday, November 19, 2006 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the J. Edward Murphy Funeral Home.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gerald's memory to the American Cancer Society's New England Division, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
