Geraldine Horton (Eastwood) Larson

Geraldine Horton Larson New Salem – Geraldine Horton (Eastwood) Larson, 98, of West Street, died Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at her home.      Geraldine was born in Keene, NH on August 7, 1916, the daughter of Harold E. and Hazel K. (Chase) Eastwood.  She grew up and lived in Keene for several years, later moving to Providence, RI where she lived most of her life.  She also lived in Cranston, RI for two years and since 2005 has resided in New Salem.      She was a homemaker and prior to her marriage she worked at the National Grange Insurance Company and Peerless Insurance in Keene.  She was a member of the Calvary Covenant Church in Cranston and affiliated with the Salvation Army Corps in Providence.   She was a Regent of the Daughter’s of the American Revolution former Ezek Hopkins Chapter, RI Society and National Society of the Mayflower Decedents, Colonial Daughters of the 17th Century, past president of the Sackett Street School PTA in Providence, 9th Ward Republican Committee and former secretary; Providence/Cranston Girl Scout Council Scholarship Committee and the Salvation Army Group.      Geraldine leaves a son, Axel R. Larson, Jr. and his wife Barbara of New Salem; three grandchildren, Axel R. Larson, III of Woburn, MA, Rachael Linnea Larson of Easthampton and Niles Larson of New Salem and three great grandsons.  She was predeceased by her first husband Axel R. Larson, Sr. and her second husband Adam J. Richie.      A graveside service will be held Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Greenlawn Cemetery (off Washington St.) Keene, NH at noon.  Higgins-O’Connor Funeral Home, 146 Main St., Athol, MA is directing arrangements.  For further information or to share a memory with the family go to: www.higginsoconnorfuneralhome.com. $(document).ready(function(){ });
