Gerard James Aitken IV

Gerard also known as Jamie, was born in Gardner MA at Heywood Hospital on July 23rd, 1978, The son of horsemen and business executive Gerard James Aitken III, and New York socialite Molly Bennett Aitken. He attended Eaglebrook school In Deerfield MA and received a Bachelors degree online. He traveled to China with his father’s business partner Dr. Alvin Melville Marks, who was like his second father to Jamie after his own father passed away. He attended local schools in China and later assisted Dr. Marks in organizing his 135 US patents into a digital library. He was Dr. Marks liaison to scientists for the EMC corporation, who further developed Dr. Marks solar energy technology.  In 2016 he became disabled from a spinal injury and devoted himself to organizing the papers of his great-grandfather Dr. Abraham Stone and his great-grandmother Dr. Hannah Meyer Stone who with Margaret Sanger founded Planned Parenthood. He received several awards for his philanthropy in connection with the Bethel Woods entertainment center and museum, which is on the grounds of the famous Woodstock festival in upstate New York.

Jamie is survived by his son Gerard James Aitken V and his twin daughters Layla and Isabella Aitken, his mother Molly Bennett Aitken of Athol, MA, Aunt Kelly Lee Dunkle of New York City, his sister Bridget Grace Marks of New York City NY, His brother Sean C Marks(Melissa) of Litchfield CT, his brother Frederick P Marks (Shelly) of Athol MA, his sister Jacqueline Lee Marks of Fort Collins Co, his sister Mary Hannah Aitken (Rolando) of New York City, His nephews Sean Marks Jr., Lucais Marks, Frederick P Marks II (Talia), Alexander Marks, Brandon Lima and Joseph Lima (Meghan). His Nieces Scarlet Lee Aylsworth and Amber Lynn Aylsworth.  His Grand nieces Charlotte Marks,  Lilah Marks, Delaney Marks, and Sophia Lima.

Jamie loved his family, music, playing the guitar, and his dog Luna. Although our hearts are broken, we know his memory will go on forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.  He is in peace at home in heaven with Jesus.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, from 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. at the Fiske-Murphy & Mack Funeral Home, 110 New Athol Road, Orange, MA 01364.
