GARDNER - Gerard D. Geoffroy, 86 of 47 Lake Street, Gardner, died Friday, January 14, 2011 in the Heywood Hospital, Gardner. He was born in Lowell, on June 5, 1924, the son of the late Dona and the late Cora (Roux) Geoffroy. Gerard grew up in Lowell and graduated from Lowell High School. Mr. Geoffroy was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army. He moved to East Templeton in 1958 and resided there until moving to Gardner in 2006. Mr. Geoffroy worked for Mead Containers for over 36 years and was co-owner with his late wife Alice (Chaput) Geoffroy of Studio 101 ceramic studio in East Templeton for many years. He enjoyed going out to dinner and traveling with his friends. He especially enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He leaves three sons; Donald G. Geoffroy of Fitchburg, Paul D. Geoffroy and his wife Karen of Gardner, Mark W. Geoffroy and his wife Marianne of Marlboro; a daughter in-law, Carol Geoffroy of Fitchburg; his companion, Barbara Wiita of Ashburnham; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Alice C. (Chaput) Geoffroy who died in 1997. Funeral services and burial will be private. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in his memory to House Of Peace And Education, 20 Barthel Avenue, Gardner, MA 01440.
