ATHOL - Gertrude Mary (Chaisson) Lagimoniere, 96 of Athol, died Friday, October 2, 2015 in the UMass Memorial Medical Center - Memorial Campus, Worcester, MA.
She was born in Athol, on June 22, 1919, the daughter of the late Peter D. and the late Catherine (Mallet) Chaisson.
She grew up in Athol and graduated from Athol High School. She worked at the L. S. Starrett Company, Dept. 33 -Shipping, for 44 years, retiring in 1984.
She was a communicant of Our Lady Immaculate Church, a former member of the Catholic Women's League, St. Anne Society, American Legion Auxiliary, Starrett 25 Year Club, Tri State Singles Dance Club of Keene, Monadnock Singles Dance club of Keene. She loved to dance and loved spending time with her family.
She leaves one son: Bryan P.A. Lagimoniere and his wife Nancy of Athol; three daughters: Catherine L. Kaczmarczyk and her husband Thomas of Orange, Nancy A. Lagimoniere of Orange, Ann C. Wessell of Athol; seven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Wilfred W. Lagimoniere who died in 1992, by three brothers: Gustoph C. Chaisson, Omer Chaisson and Jackie Chaisson; her four sisters: May Rocheleau, Lucille Dubois, Lillian Kelly and Clara Dooley.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, October 16, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Our Lady Immaculate Church, 192 School St., Athol. Burial will follow in Silver Lake Cemetery.
A Calling Hour will be held Friday from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. in the Fiske-Murphy & Mack Funeral Home, 110 New Athol Rd., Orange.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to Our Lady Immaculate Church Building Fund, 192 School St., Athol, MA 01331
