Gilbert S. Brown

SHIPPENSBURG, PA - Gilbert Steven Brown, 91 of 921 Big Spring Road, Shippensburg, PA, formerly of Lee St. in Athol, died Saturday, August 27, 2011 at home.               He was born Louisiana, on June 20, 1920, the son of the late Ralph and the late Elizabeth (LaCroix) Brown. He served during World War II in the Merchant Marines from 1942 to 1944.   Mr. Brown worked at Athol Manufacturing, Millers Falls Manufacturing and was an Electrician at the L.S. Starrett Company for many years retiring in 2000. He was a communicant of Our Lady Immaculate Church while living in Athol.   He leaves one son: Steven R. Brown and his wife Rita(Crepeau) of Shippensburg, PA  a grandson, Steven R. Brown II; a granddaughter, Anna M. Bruno; five great grandchildren; two sister in-laws, Avis Wessell of Athol; Katherine Brown of New Orleans, LA; two nieces:  Sharon King and Laurel Howard of Athol; and one nephew"  Randall Brown of CA. He was predeceased by his wife, Lila B. (Wessell) Brown   A graveside service will be held Friday, September 2, 2011 at 10:00 am in Gethsemane Cemetery, Daniel Shays Highway, Athol.  There are no calling hours.   $(document).ready(function(){ });
