Gilda A. Mella

LEOMINSTER - Gilda A.  Mella, 92 of Leominster died Sunday, November 23, 2014 in the Health Alliance Hospital, Leominster. She was born June 14, 1922 in Leominster the daughter of Antonio Consalvo and Gemma (Barassi) Consalvo.   She was a member of St. Anna's church. She worked at the former Cluet and Peabody Company and the former E. I. Dupont Company both of Leominster.  She also worked as a waitress at the El Camino restaurant. An avid Red Sox fan she enjoyed doing crafts, knitting and was known as an excellent seamstress and a great cook. She leaves two daughters, Linda M. Guidi and her husband Al Guidi of Leominster, Donna A. Hanna and her husband Mark D. Hanna of Leominster,  one brother, Henry Consalvo of Leominster; three grandchildren Jennifer E. Guidi of Fitchburg, Kati L. Hanna and her fiancé John Noyes of Worcester,  Jeffrey T. Hannah of Leominster; and her life-long friend, Lucy Ciccolini.   She was pedeceased by her husband of 58 years, John J. Mella who died in 2004 and by five brothers, Levi Consalvo, Edward Consalvo, Daniel Consalvo, Guido Consalvo, Albert Consalvo and by three sisters, Eva Ciccolini, Irene Mazzaferro, Dora Cucciara. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, November 25, 2014, at 10 AM in St. Anna Church 199 Lancaster St., Leominster, MA. Burial will follow in St. Leo Cemetery, Leominster.
