Leominster- Gladys A. (Bouvier) Vaillette, 89, of Leominster passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 in the Life Care Center Nursing Home. She was the daughter of the late Raymond and Mabel (Shepherd) Bouvier.
Gladys grew up in Leominster and attended Leominster schools. She graduated from Leominster High School in 1942. She worked for Laurier Press as a Press Machine Operator, and also as a telephone operator for New England Telephone for a few years. Most of all, she was a homemaker to her one son Larry.
Gladys was a lifelong member of St. Cecilia’s Church and enjoyed cooking, sewing and being a housewife and mother. She looked forward to spending time with her family
She leaves behind her husband of 69 years; Lawrence A. Vaillette of Leominster, one son; Lawrence Vaillette and his wife Kathleen of Leominster, two grandsons; Zachary W. Vaillette and Tyler L. Vaillette, two sister-in-laws; Claire Bouvier of Leominster, and Pauline Bouvier of Kingston MA, and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by one daughter; Mary Vaillette, three brothers; Raymond Bouvier, Roland Bouvier, and Paul Bouvier, and one sister; Mary C. Lamolinare.
Calling hours will be held from the Simard Funeral Home 14 Walker Street, Leominster on Saturday February 15, 2014 from 2:00pm-4:00pm. A funeral service will be held immediately following at 4:00pm in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Cecilia’s Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
In Lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made in Gladys’s name to the St. Cecilia’s Restoration Fund 180 Mechanic St. Leominster, MA 01453 or may be left at the funeral home.
