LEOMINSTER - Gladys E. (Landry) McKenna, 91, of 106 Water St., Leominster, died Thursday, March 26, 2009 in the Walden Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Concord.
She was born in Leominster, on October 18, 1917, the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Rose (Gokey) Landry.
Mrs. McKenna grew up in Leominster and attended Saint Leo's and Leominster High School. She worked as a secretary for the United States Military in Iowa, Cape Cod, and Fort Devens, retiring in 1983. She was a former member of the Eastwood Club in Leominster.
She leaves one son, Terry McKenna of Lapeer, Michigan; one grandson, Josh McKenna of Michigan; and several nieces and nephews, including Nancy Kerylow and her husband Chris of Lunenburg.
She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Leonard L. McKenna, who died on June 18, 1999.
Funeral services will be private.
There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to American Cancer Society's New England Division Office, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
