LEOMINSTER - Gladys M. (Herrell) Richard, 86, of 9 Second St., Leominster, died Saturday, August 30, 2008 at home. She was born in Rogersville, New Brunswick, Canada on October 17, 1921, the daughter of the late William and the late Elodie (LeBlanc) Herrell. She was a member of St. Cecilia's Church, the Carmelites, and St. Cecilia's Church Prayer Group. She loved to cook and feed people. She leaves three daughters, Phyllis Richard of Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada, Joanne Pitre of Lancaster, Carol Schincke and her longtime companion Vincent Stingola of Leominster; four sons, Bryan Richard and his wife Mona of Leominster, Francis Richard and his wife Laurie of Leominster, Wayne Richard and his wife Judy of Leominster, David Richard and his wife Joy of Leominster; two sisters, Bertha Aucoin of Waltham, Doreen Gaudet of Rogersville, New Brunswick, Canada; nine grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Leo L. Richard Husband, who died on July 5, 1991; and by her two brothers, Elmer Herrell and Elworth Herrell, of Rogersville, New Brunswick, Canada, who died many years ago. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Cecilia's Church, 180 Mechanic Street, Leominster. Burial will follow in St. Cecilia's Cemetery, Leominster. Calling hours will be held Monday, September 1, 2008 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Simard Funeral Home, 14 Walker St., Leominster. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to St. Cecilia's Church Restoration Fund, 180 Mechanic Street, Leominster, MA 01453.
