Leominster- Gloria R. Bilodeau (Aubut) of Leominster, MA passed away Sunday March 2, 2014 in Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Boston after a long hospitalization due to complications from heart surgery.
She was the loving mother of seven children, ten grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. She leaves behind three sons; Mark E.Bilodeau of Newburyport MA, David L. Bilodeau of Mashpee MA, Roger Bilodeau of Leominster MA, four daughters; Deborah A. Chase of Leominster MA, Susan Tougas of Hudson NH, Gail Dandy of Leominster MA, and Mary E. Midgley of Tyngsboro MA.
She also leaves behind seven brothers and sisters; Rita Bilodeau of Fl, Marie Claire Rheault of Clearwater FL, Robert Bilodeau of Leominster, Betty Gagnon of Westford MA, Judy D’Innocenzo of Leominster Ma, Richard Bilodeau, and Linda Slaybaugh of CO, as well as her sister -in-law and best friend Jeanne Morel of Leominster MA, and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sister Carol Hurtubise and her granddaughter Rachel Dandy.
She was an accomplished artist and painter who sold much of her art work over the years. She had many, many talents including the ability to create beautiful things from the simplest ordinary items. She was very devoted to her family, always putting them before herself. She was always kind to everyone she met.
She owned and operated East Side Diner in Fitchburg for many years, making many friends there who always came back for her wonderful cooking and generosity. She never stopped giving, running the Lancaster Senior Citizens Bingo Night until the end. She will be missed by all that she touched.
Calling hours will be held from the Simard Funeral Home 14Walker St. Leominster on Friday March 7, 2014 from 4:00pm-8:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday March 8, 2014 at 10:00am in St. Cecilia’s Church 180 Mechanic St Leominster. Burial will follow in St. Cecilia’s Cemetery Leominster.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting the donations in Gloria’s name be made to the: Mass Audubon Society 6 Beacon St. Boston, MA 02108 or may be left at the funeral home.
