GARDNER - Gloria Jane (Cormier, Mills) Fournier, died on September 12, 2023, in Wachusett Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Gardner.
She was born March 21, 1934, in Gardner, the daughter of the late Hector and Laura (Bettey) Cormier.
Gloria attended Holy Rosary School up to fourth grade, then the Franco-American Orphanage in Lowell, from 1943 to 1949, and Gardner High School in 1949 for her junior year.
In 1952 when she turned 18, she enlisted in the US Air Force. She proudly served her country as an airman second class during the Korean Conflict 1952-1954. stationed in Texas as a weather observer. She worked for H & R Block for 16 years as a tax preparer and office manager at the Gardner office. Even in retirement, she worked as a tax preparer for family and friends for over 17 years.
Gloria enjoyed candlepin bowling, dancing, crocheting, country music, and traveling to casinos in Ct, Nevada, and NJ. taking children and grandchildren to Disney, doing word and jigsaw puzzles, and her computer. She especially enjoyed her family clambakes with children, grandchildren, sisters and their husbands, cousins and friends. She was a member of the Holy Spirit Church
She leaves two sons, William E. Mills of Gardner and Gary J. Mills of Florissant, Co., and a daughter Linda Begley, and her husband, William, of Gardner, also two sisters, Dorilla Pasakinskas of Gardner, Rachel Menegoni and her husband Anthony of Barre. Four grandchildren, Jessica Thomas and her husband Neil, Kristen Cleverly, Stephen Begley, and Thomas Begley. Two great-grandchildren Dillon Cleverly and Clara Thomas, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Her husband of 32 years, George Fournier died in 1997, her sister, Nancy Allain in 2017, and brothers-in-law, Paul Allain in 2003, Alphonse Pasakinskas Jr. in 2009.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 2, 2023 at 11 am with a Mass at Annunciation Parish - Holy Rosary Church 135 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
A calling hour will be held on Monday, October 2, 2023 from 9:30 - 10:30 am in the Mack Family Funeral Home, 105 Central St., Gardner.
