Gloria Jean (Severance) Elliott Whitman

Gloria J. Whitman Phillipston – Gloria Jean (Severance) Elliott Whitman, 78, of 485 Highland Avenue, died Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Heywood Hospital following a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family.      Gloria was born in Gardner, Massachusetts, February 4, 1935, the daughter of the late Doris (Blake) Hill and Alvin W. Severance.  She graduated from Athol High School in 1953 and has resided in Phillipston most of her life.        Gloria worked at the former Fox Run Restaurant for over 30 years.  She enjoyed playing cards, board games, tennis, bowling, riding horses and taking vacation trips with her family.  She was a lifetime member of the Phillipston Congregational Church.        She leaves her children, Terry LaBonte and her husband Richard of Baldwinville, Sally Elliott of Gloucester, MA, Michael Whitman and his wife Terri of Phillipston and Cindy White of Winchendon.  She also leaves a sister, Vurla O’Hara of East Falmouth and her brother Kenneth Buzzell of Templeton and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a sister Judith Johnson.  She will be sadly missed and dearly remembered by all those who knew her.      A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Phillipston Congregational Church, On the Common, Phillipston with the Rev.
