GARDNER - Gregory E. Sass, 59 of Gardner, died Thursday, July 9, 2020 at home.
He was born in Gardner, on November 8, 1960, the son of the late Edward J. and the late Sally A. (Bednarczyk) Sass.
Greg grew up in Gardner and graduated from Gardner High School. He was a Lineman working for National Grid for over 30 years. He was an avid fisherman, his passion for fishing was like his dads, he loved to fish. He also raced RC cars, enjoyed hiking, gardening and was a Jack of all trades.
He leaves one daughter, Stephanie J. Sass of Templeton, one son, Nicholas G. Sass of Templeton; mother of his children and former spouse, Orilie Sass of Templeton; one sister, Christina LaChance of Houston, TX; three nieces, Melissa LaChance of Brooklyn, NY, Aimee LaChance of Houston, TX, Emily Graves of Westminster and one nephew, Michael Graves of Westminster; and many close friends and extended family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, July 17, 2020 at 11:00 am in the Annunciation Parish - Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Mack Family Funeral Home, 105 Central St., Gardner. Masks will be required at all times.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in his memory to The National Alliance on Mental Illness of Massachusetts - NAMI Mass Annual Fund
