Guy Y. Bachand

LEOMINSTER - Guy Y. Bachand, 84 of 200 Atlantic Ave, Leominster, formerly of 303 Mechanic St., died Sunday, July 15, 2007 in the Anna Jaques Hospital, Newbury Port, MA. He was born in St. Catherine de Hadley, Canada, on June 15, 1923, the son of the late Adolphe and the late Leilia (Barsalou) Bachand. He was a Union Pipe Fitter with Local #4. He was a member of St. Cecilia´s Church, St. Jean de Baptiste, and the Good Sam Organization. Guy leaves his wife of 60 years, Fleur-ange (Chapdelaine) Bachand, two daughters, Monique Greilich and husband William of Wenham, MA, Denise Prince and her husband Michael of Lewisburg, PA. Nine Grandchildren, Brent and Courtney Hazzard, Leslie Russell, Danielle, Nicholas and Paul Greilich, Julia, Benjamin Guy and Thomas Prince. He was predeceased by a son Ronald in 1968, a daughter Lucie in 1998 and a grandson Craig Hazzard in 1974, by three brothers, Fernand, Camille and Jean Bachand and by six sisters, Claire Morin, Blanche Landry, Marie-ange Chapdelaine, Aline Bachand, Lucile Bachand and Rita Bachand. Guy enjoyed flowers, gardening and traveling extensively in his motorhome. He was an avid Red Sox and Boston Bruins fan. He never missed a game. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, July 21, 2007 at 10:00 am in St. Cecilia´s Church, 180 Mechanic Street, Leominster. Burial will follow in St. Cecilia´s Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Friday July 20, 2007, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the M. A. Simard & Son Funeral Home, 14 Walker St., Leominster.
