H. Berry

ATHOL - Colman Harold Berry of 397 West Royalson Road, Athol died May 2, 2012.   He was born August 6, 1919 in Cornish, ME and graduated from Cornish High School in 1937.  Colman entered the Army in 1941 with the 101st Infantry and was discharged in 1945.   From 1945 to 1963 Colman worked in Maine for Shaws Supermarket as a butcher.   In 1963 the Berry family started traveling the Harness Horseman Circuit.  In 1972 Colman made his permanent residence in Athol and was employed as a Harness Horse Trainer for William Cass, Jr. until his mid 80's.   He is survived by his daughter Marlou Rickan of Athol and grandsons Jeffrey Berry of Florida, Shawn Rickan of Phillipston, Scott Berry of Maine and Chad Berry of Athol; also seven great grand children.   Colman was predeceased by his wife Eleanor Wing Berry of 64 years in 2005 and his son Roger in 1984.   He will be laid to rest at a later date in Cornish, Maine.   $(document).ready(function(){ });
