Halina (Archaki) Doiron

February 2, 1926 — January 25, 2015

ATHOL-Halina Doiron died Sunday, January 25, 2015, while surrounded by her loving family.  She leaves two daughters, Maryann Doiron of Cambridge and Jan Bloomstein of Millbury; seven grandchildren, Lia Doiron-LaRue, Jaret Doiron-LaRue, Ethan Doiron-LaRue, Calvin Doiron, Sydney Bloomstein, Nadine Doiron and Wyatt Doiron-LaRue; a sister, Carolyn Fournier; a sister-in-law, Yvonne Soucie; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.  She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Reane Doiron, and her beloved son, Jon Doiron.  Halina was born in Gardner, MA on February 2, 1926, the daughter of Chester and Henrieka (Bukowski)  Archaki.   She graduated from Gardner High School and Becker College.  She enjoyed her full time job as a homemaker as well as part time jobs as a book-keeper and town clerk. She also assisted her husband in managing the family business, Carbide Saw Service, which later became J&R Engineering. She was a devout parishioner of Our Lady Immaculate Catholic Church, was a charter member of the Polish American Social League and was an active member of the Athol community.  Halina was most happy in the company of her family.  She cherished her role as a mother, wife, sister, and especially as a doting and proud grandmother (Babcia) to her grandchildren, showering them with her love and generosity.  She was overjoyed by the successes of her children and grandchildren, be it professional, academic, artistic or athletic achievement.  She enjoyed crewel, sewing, reading, traveling, polka dancing and puzzles.  She also enjoyed summers at the beloved family “Camp.” Her many travels included trips to Italy, Poland, Ireland and Austria; and, cruises through Alaska, the Panama Canal, and the Mississippi River.  She is deeply loved by her family and friends and will be sorely missed.    Calling hours will be held at Fiske Funeral Home at 110 New Athol Road in Orange, MA on Saturday, January 31st, from 9:30 – 10:30 AM.  A Funeral Mass will be held following calling hours at Our Lady Immaculate Catholic Church at 11:00.  Private burial services will occur at Gethsemane Cemetery in Athol, MA at a time to be determined by the family.  Following the Funeral Mass, refreshments will be served at Fiske Funeral Home in Orange, MA.     $(document).ready(function(){ });
