Harriet Stuart (Davis) Neverett of Athol passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 11, 2022.
Harriet was born in Montague, MA on October 18, 1937, a daughter of Ruth (Thurlow) Davis
and Peter Davis.
She is predeceased by her mother, father, and sister, Helena (Davis) Canning.
She leaves her beloved husband, Richard (Dick) Neverett behind, as well as her two sons and
daughter-in-law, Mark and Laura Neverett, and Paul Neverett and Olga Chavez, her daughter
and son-in-law, Ruth and Richard Truesdell as well as 12 grandchildren, and 11 great-
grandchildren.
Harriet was married to Dick for 60 wonderful years filled with lots of love, prayer, laughter and
good food. There was nothing that meant more to Harriet than her family and her faith in Jesus
Christ.
Harriet grew up in Orange and graduated from the former Orange High School in 1955 where
she was a cheerleader and played basketball and softball. She spent most of her time outdoors,
sledding and ice-skating in the winter months and spending her summers in Newburyport at the
beach with her family.
Throughout her adult-life, Harriet was a faithful and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-
grandmother and was adored by her whole family. She continued to love the outdoors, both
playing with her children and grandchildren, and by tending an enormous, beautiful garden that
she used to feed her entire family.
She was also strong in her faith. As a woman who truly loved the Lord, she was a warrior of
prayer, taught the High School Sunday School class and the Lady’s Bible Study at her church,
The North Quabbin Bible Church, and spent much of her time studying God’s word.
Though her family and loved ones will miss her dearly, they are comforted in the knowledge that
she has found rest and peace in her true home with her Heavenly Father and look forward to
seeing her again.
