Helen Boulier passed away on October 20, 2023, shortly after her 100th birthday. Born on May 30, 1923, in Caribou, Maine, to her parents, Charles and Laura (Fournier) Devoe of Caribou, ME. Helen's life took her across the landscapes of Maine, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. Her warmth, kindness, and amazing sense of humor left an indelible mark wherever she called home. Helen was a quiet beacon of resilience and determination.
Helen's professional journey was as varied and vibrant as the places she lived. From serving customers at the former Gardner Windsor Restaurant, then the Hollywood Restaurant, she dedicated herself to creating memorable dining experiences for her patrons. Later, she found her calling in the digital world, proving that age is no barrier to learning and evolving. As a Supervisor at Digital Equipment in Westminster. Outside of work, Helen found solace and joy in sewing, gardening, spending time with her granddaughter, Natalie. A devout woman of faith, she was a member of the Emblem Club, Gardner Elks, Ladies of St. Anne in Fitchburg, and St. Joseph Church.
Helen is survived by her son, Paul Boulier and his wife Linda of Concord Township, OH and Estero, FL; also by her granddaughter Natalie Chronister and her husband, Daniel of Baden, PA. She is also survived by her sister, Delphine Fisher and sister-in-law Claire Devoe, both of Gardner, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Paul Boulier; her brothers, Roland, Ralph, Joseph, and Donald Devoe, and her sister, Ruth Monahan.
Her life will be celebrated with a visitation on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at 9:00am - 10:15 am at Mack Family Funeral Homes, 105 Central Street, Gardner, Massachusetts, followed by a Mass at Holy Spirit Church, 50 Lovewell Street, Gardner, at 11:00am. Burial will be private at a later date.
The family would like to send their sincere appreciation to the staffs at Heywood Wakefield Commons, Applewood Home for Elders, and Summit Eldercare; their incredible kindness, friendship, and dedication provided solace and support for Helen through the many challenges she faced in her later years of her life.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
