Helen R. Punis
Kingston, MA – Helen Rose (Casari) Punis, 95 (formerly of Orange) passed away Monday, June 16, 2014 at Wingate At Silver Lake in Kingston.
She was born in Orange, MA, December 10, 1918, the daughter of John and Velia (Degara) Casari. She grew up in Orange where she spent most of her life. It was in the Orange area that she met John J. Punis and married him on September 9, 1939.
John and Helen operated the Orange Wayside Furniture for 34 years. They also enjoyed skiing and golfing together. After John’s death in 1983 Helen moved to Enfield, CT to be closer to her daughter, Judith J. Battaini, her son-in-law, Angelo J. Battaini and her granddaughter, Kim Battaini Williamson. She remained in Enfield/Longmeadow area for 20 years enjoying the outdoors with friends and maintaining an active lifestyle. Helen always had an impeccable appearance, loved to socialize with friends and spend time with her family, especially her great- grandchildren. She can be best remembered for her caring demeanor and the love and respect she had for her marriage to John. She will be forever missed.
Helen leaves a daughter, Judy Battaini, a granddaughter Kim Battaini Williamson, a grandson-in-law, Timothy Williamson and three great grandchildren, Timmy, Angie and Haley Williamson.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Gethsemane Cemetery with the Rev. Fr. Krzysztof Korcz, pastor of Our Lady Immaculate Church officiating.
