ATHOL - Helen M. Corriveau, resident of Baldwinville Nursing Home, formerly of Athol passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on July 3, 2014.
Helen was born September 29, 1923 in Millers Falls, the youngest of seven siblings. She graduated from Greenfield High School as an honor student in 1941 and married Leo P. Corriveau, to whom she was married 63 years.
Helen was a loving mother to three children: Leola Petrousky Kosiarski of Rehoboth Beach, DE, Leo P. Corriveau, Jr. of Hancock, NH, and Pamela Gagnon of Athol. She was a much loved mother in law, grandmother to five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, as well as beloved by her nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends.
In her early married years, Helen worked at the Athol Credit Union and after raising her family, at the L.S. Starrett Company. She was a member of the Catholic Women’s League at Our Lady Immaculate Church and a member of the Executive Committee of the Resident’s Council at Baldwinville Nursing Home.
Helen enjoyed cooking, baking, home decorating, shopping, flea markets, Silver Sneakers at the YMCA and the many activities at Baldwinville Nursing Home.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at Our Lady Immaculate Church, 192 School St., Athol. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery, Athol.
A calling hour will be Tuesday, July 8, 2014 from 9:15 - 10:15 a.m. at Fiske-Murphy & Mack Funeral Home, 110 New Athol Road, Orange.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial donations be made in Helen’s memory to the Baldwinville Nursing Home Activities Department PO Box 24, Baldwinville, MA 01436.
