Helen Czajkowski

BALDWINVILLE - Helen T. (Coobic) Czajkowski, 90, of 2 Cherry Street, Baldwinville and New Port Richey, Florida, died on Thursday, June 10, 2010 at her home. She was born in Baldwinville on July 13, 1919, the daughter of the late George and the late Mary (Arasmowicz) Coobic. Helen grew up in Baldwinville and graduated from Templeton High School with the class of 1937. She worked for the former Heywood Wakefield Company of Gardner, Waite Chair and Thompson Chair of Baldwinville in the 1940s and 1950s. More recently, she worked for the former Walter E. Fernald State School, now the Templeton Developmental Center, for twenty-two years until she retired in 1984 as a Supervisor. She was a communicant of St. Vincent de Paul Church in Baldwinville and a former member of the Gardner AARP and Templeton Golden Agers. She enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox and the Patriots, and especially enjoyed spending time with her beloved family; her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She leaves two sons, John B. Czajkowski, Jr. of Ashburnham, MA, Douglas G. Czajkowski and his wife Nancy of Rockville, CT; two sisters, Sophie Kasper of Baldwinville; Stella Daigneau of Mystic, CT; two grandchildren, Lori Conant of Ashford, CT, Douglas J. Czajkowski of Tolland, CT; three great grandchildren, Julia Czajkowski, Mikayla Conant, Grace Conant; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of sixty-five years, John B. Czajkowski, Sr., on September 14, 2006; by her two brothers, Anthony Coobic, Joseph Coobic; and by her two sisters, Stephina Coobic and Mildred Rousseau. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. in St. Vincent De Paul, 1 Forest St., Baldwinville. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Gardner. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, June 15, 2010 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Poliks Funeral Home, 431 Pleasant Street, Gardner.
