Helen Elizabeth (Knight) Marble,
Ashburnham, MA --
Elizabeth Marble, 84, passed away peacefully and in the loving care of her family on the morning of November 8, as a result of a stroke.
If Elizabeth's (Liza's) life was intertwined with yours in any way you knew that she was loving and kind and always knew how to make things special. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved being silly and laughing. She was an artist at heart and creativity flowed through even the smallest things she did. Elizabeth was elegant and proper and could have easily had tea with the Queen, but she loved a naughty joke and the Salvation Army was her boutique of choice! She was strong and tenderhearted at the same time and she infused all of us with her confidence, her independent spirit and her sense of fun. But most of all she was passionately dedicated to her family as a wife, mother and grandmother and had a big heart full of pride.
Elizabeth was born in Worcester, MA on August 18, 1930, daughter of Arthur Weston and Helen Magee Knight. She graduated from Major Beal High School in
Shrewsbury and attended The Modern School of Interior Design in Boston.
She is survived by her life long love and partner, Richard Warren Marble, married 59 years; son Richard W. Marble II and his fiance, Catherine
Shannon of Duxbury, MA; daughter Pamela Marble Sherman and her husband, Robert of Lebanon, NH and their sons, Luke and Jesse; son Jeffrey Luke Marble and his sons, Alister, Aidan, and Colin of Fairfax, VT; daughter Kimberly Knight Marble of Enfield, NH; and many, many cherished extended family members and
friends.
All are welcome to attend our celebration of Elizabeth's life taking place at the John H. Mack Funeral Home in Gardener, MA on Saturday, November 22nd from
1-3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Salvation Army.
