ATHOL - Helen E. Lovern, 64 of 4 Briggs Road died Sunday, July 16, 2006 at home following an illness. She was born in Washington, D.C on December 1, 1941, the daughter of the late Charles D. and the late Sarah (Steadman) Wagner. She worked at the Athol Memorial Hospital as a bookkeeper and later was Vice President of Athol Medical, Inc. She enjoyed gardening and was devoted to her children and enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren. She leaves four sons; Lawrence (Larry) Lovern of Athol, Robert Lovern of Warwick, Steven Lovern of Athol and Michael Lovern of Petersham, one sister; Deeny Brown of VA, one brother; Henry Wagner of Washington, D.C., and two sisters-in-law; Ellen Wong of Bernardston and Leila Weichert of Denver, NC, eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband of forty-five years, Wilbur R. Lovern, who died on September 28, 2005. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. in the East Street Cemetery, East Street, Petersham. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to Athol Memorial Hospital, Oncology Dept., 2033 Main Street, Athol, MA 01331. $(document).ready(function(){ });
