NASHUA, NH- Helen M. (Gonville) Normandin, 74, of Plainfield, CT, formerly of Leominster, MA, died Friday, February 10, surrounded by her children.
She was born in Springfield, VT on July 6, 1942, daughter of the late Edgar L. Gonville and Helen R. (Campbell) Gonville D'Amico.
Her beloved husband, Roger Normandin, died in May 2016.
She leaves her four children, Mary McKee and husband, Randy, Margaret "Meg" Saucier and husband, Gary, Michelle E. Seppi and husband, Bruce, and Mark E. Normandin and wife, Lois; eleven grandchildren, Melissa Seppi, Chris McKee and wife, Nicole, Carl McKee, Joseph Saucier, Adam Normandin, and wife Megan, Chad McKee, Nathan Saucier, Chuck McKee, Zachary Seppi, Jessica Normandin, and Amanda Normandin; five great granddaughters, Ayva, Haylie, Hannah, Jayda, and Maggie; brothers and sisters in law, Walter and Lillian Normandin, James and Elaine Normandin, Eugene and Debra Normandin, Myrna Normandin, Dante Gentile, and Joseph Nault.
Helen worked for 9 years as a teacher's assistant in Leominster Public School in Special Education with George McFarland. After graduating from Fitchburg State College, she taught at CAPS Collaborative in Gardner, MA and 28 years at the Sayles School in Baltic, CT, retiring in 2012. Helen served as Chaplain at the American Legion Post 91 in Moosup, CT.
The calling hours are Saturday, February 18, from 9:00 to 10:30 A.M. in Simard Funeral Home, 14 Walker St., Leominster, MA. The funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 A.M. In St. Cecilia's Church, 180 Mechanic St., Leominster. Burial will follow in St. Cecilia's Cemetery.
