GARDNER - Helen (Tarmasiewicz) Wojdylak, 93 of 73 Marquette Street, Gardner, died Tuesday, March 31, 2009 in the Wachusett Manor Nursing Home, Gardner.
She was born in Gardner, on June 12, 1915, the daughter of the late Ludwig and the late Helen (Kiedal) Tarmasiewicz.
Helen grew up in Gardner and was educated in Gardner. She was employed at the former First National Store and also worked for Collier Keyworth for several years. She retired in 1973.
She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church and a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality of the church. She was a member of the AARP and the Gardner Golden Age Club.
She leaves three daughters, Carol Turgeon and her husband Eugene of Saugus, MA, Sally Daigle and her husband Claude of Gardner, Marcella Wojdylak of Gardner, and one son: Herman A. Wojdylak, Jr. and his wife Mindi of Milpitas, California; one sister, Regina Bogdanowicz of West Covina, California; one brother, Stanley Tarmasiewicz and his wife Elsie of Gardner; six grandchildren, four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Herman A. Wojdylak who died in 1982; by one sister, Lillian Ambrozewicz; and by four brothers, Edmond Tarmasiewicz, Henry Tarmasiewicz, Stephen Tarmasiewicz, and Victor Tarmasiewicz.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 10:00 am in St. Joseph's Church, 358 Pleasant St., Gardner. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours will be held Friday April 3, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Poliks Funeral Home 431 Pleasant St., Gardner.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest that donations be made in her memory to the Gardner Visiting Nursing Association, 34 Perly Lane, Gardner, MA 01440.
