GARDNER - Helen S. (Matusewicz) Zlotnik, 91, of Gardner, passed away at her home on Friday, April 11, 2008. Helen was a 1935 graduate of Templeton High School. She attended Bruan Business School in Knoxville, Tennessee. She was employed by Trifolo's Supermarket for many years. Helen enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and her dog, Molly. She also had many hobbies including, oil painting, crafts, gardening, line dancing, and bingo. In the summer, she would be seen riding her tractor around her large lawn. Helen was also actively involved as a member of the Golden Age Club of Gardner. Helen leaves her twin daughters, Mary Zlotnik of Waltham, Marie Christie and her husband Raymond of Shrewsbury; one son, Albert P. Zlotnik of Plano, TX; three grand daughters, Susan Christie, Victoria Zlotnik, and Kathryn Zlotnik; one brother-in-law, Leon Zlotnik and his wife Helen of Gardner; and many nieces and nephews. Her husband of 54 years, Albert S. Zlotnik predeceased her, as well as her four brothers, John, William, Peter, and Alexander Matusewicz; by her two sisters, Mary Zalewski and Anna Ayers; and by her daughter-in-law Lura Zlotnik. She was also predeceased by her best friend and sister-in-law Julie Matusewicz. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 17, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the Poliks Funeral Home, 431 Pleasant St., Gardner. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, April 16, 2008 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to National Breast Cancer Foundation, 2600 Network Blvd., Suite 300, Frisco, TX 75034.
