EAST TEMPLETON- Helena M. (Gemborys) Stacy Breton, 88, of East Templeton, died peacefully Saturday, April 16, at Wachusett Manor, after an illness.
She was born December 26, 1927, in Gardner, daughter of the late Paul and Helen Gemborys. Mrs. Breton was a member of Holy Cross Church in East Templeton and its Sodality. She worked for Head Start, and retired in 1991 from the Walter Fernald School. She played in the Polish American Bowling League and was an assistant Girl Scout leader. Mrs Breton enjoyed playing cards and was a fan of the Boston Red Sox.
She was predeceased by her two husbands, Frederick L. Stacy and Cleo L. Breton; three sisters, Gladys Stuckey, Jean Gemborys, and Barsha Gebo; seven brothers, Bronislaw, Stanley, Paul, Chester, John, Frank, and Walter Gemborys; and a stepson,Francis Breton.
She leaves seven children, Katherine Gordon and Deborah Fisher, both of the Villages, FL, Priscilla Stacy, Peter Stacy, both of East Templeton, John Stacy of Otter River, Andrew Stacy of Templeton, and James Stacy and his wife, Laura of East Templeton; three stepchildren, Ken Breton, Donna Olivari, and Gerald Breton; 14 grandchildren, Paul Douckas, Patrick Gordon, Jaime Ellsworth, Ashley Boudle, Rylee Stacy 2nd Class Petty Officer US Navy, Nikolas Stacy, David Iadarola Army Specialist US Army, Andrew Stacy, Cassaundra Stacy, Marcy Morrissette, Maranda Donnelly, Jasmine Allen, Lacey and Jamie Cwalina; 12 great grandchildren; four siblings, Irene Stacy, Eugene, Joseph, and Richard Gemborys; her longtime, dearest friend, Priscilla LeClerc; and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are Thursday, April 21, from 2:00 to 4:00 & 6:00 to 8:00 PM in Poliks Funeral Home, 431 Pleasant St., Gardner.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, April 22, at 12:30 PM in Holy Cross Church, 25 Lake Ave., East Templeton. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon.
