BALDWINVILLE – Henry S. Baczewski, 84, of 36 Prospect Street, Baldwinville died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, August 16, 2013 at home.
He was born on October 11, 1928 the son of the late Stanislaw and Anna (Baldyga) Baczewski. He grew up in Templeton and attended Templeton Schools.
Mr. Baczewski was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army as a Machine Gunner.
He was employed at Seaman Paper Company for many years he retired in 1984.
He was a member of the Gardner V.F.W. Post No. 905; the Baldwinville American Legion Post No. 373; the Gardner Knights of Columbus and the Polish American Veterans.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Margaret A. (Cutting) Baczewski; two sons, Stanley Baczewski and his wife Margarita of Gardner, Ted Baczewski and his wife Donna of Worcester; three daughters,Theresa Gautreau and her husband Richard of Templeton, Marianne Callan and her husband Brian of Baldwinville; Helen Alliy and her husband Scott of West Palm Beach, FL; one sister, Patricia Fougere of Florida; nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by three sisters, Valiera Maattala, Bernice Gronowicz, Stella Yackowski and by one brother Mickey Baczewski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at 11 a.m. in St. Martin Church 248 State Road, Otter River. All those attending the mass are asked to go directly to the church. Private burial in the Massachusetts Veterans Cemetery, Winchendon will be at the convenience of the family.
Calling hours will be held Monday, August 19, 2013 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Poliks Funeral Home 431 Pleasant St., Gardner.
