TEMPLETON - Henry Fucile, Jr., 83 of Templeton, died Wednesday, March 27, 2013 in the Heywood Hospital, Gardner.
He was born in Gardner, on May 25, 1929, the son of the late Henry and the late Nancy(D'Amico) Fucile.
Henry grew up in Gardner and was educated in Gardner. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Fucile was employed at Adam Printing for many years. He operated the Ye Ole Chicken Coop for many years selling crafts and other handmade things. He was a member of St. Joseph's Church. He enjoyed traveling, gambling, woodworking and making clocks. He attended several Army reunions.
He leaves his wife of 32 years, Irene L.(Ruckey) Fucile; one sister, Marjorie Sokoloski of Gardner; two step daughters, Mary Ann Cyr and her husband Francis of Gardner; Pat Antononi and her husband Wayne of Gardner; two step sons, Gary Deslauriers and his wife Kim of Templeton; John Deslauriers and his wife Francene of New Hampshire; 12 step-grandchildren; 4 step-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his first wife, May Lillian Aho, by two brothers, Joseph Fucile, Frank Fucile, and by four sisters, Stella Smith, Norma Couillard, Antonia Heald, and Martha Richard.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at 11:30 am in St. Joseph's Church, 358 Pleasant St., Gardner. Burial with military honors will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Gardner.
A calling hour will be held Tuesday, April 2, 2013, from 10 - 11 a.m. at Poliks Funeral Home, 431 Pleasant St., Gardner.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in his memory to Alzheimer's Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472 or to the American Diabetes Association, 330 Congress St., 5th Floor, Boston, MA 02210.
