LEOMINSTER- Henry E. Leger, 100 of Leominster, died Wednesday, November 16, in the Golden Living Center.
Mr. Leger was born December 1, 1915, in Shediac, New Brunswick, son of the late Oscar and Flora Leger. He was a 1934 graduate of Fitchburg High School. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during WWII. Mr. Leger was a car salesman for the former DeLongchamp Auto Sales. He lived in Lunenburg for 57 years, moving to Leominster in 2008. He served as Past president of the Cable Club of IC Credit Union, a former member of Immaculate Conception Church in Fitchburg. He was a member of St. Cecilia’s Parish.
His wife of 72 years, Gertrude (Coulombe) Leger, died July 20, 2016. His sister, Alverta Gendron, and her husband Roland also predeceased him.
He leaves his son, Dr. Bruce R. Leger, and his wife Sharon of Ashburnham; one granddaughter, Kimberly Leger Smelstor of Bellingham; three great grandchildren, Olivia, Ava, and Jack; two nephews Michael Gendron of Marshfield and Jeffrey Gendron of Fitchburg.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday November 30, at 10:30 AM in St. Cecilia’s Church, 180 Mechanic St. Leominster. Burial with military honors will follow in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, in Winchendon. To sign the guestbook, please visit www.mackfamilyfh.com
