ATHOL- Henry “Joe” Lucier, Jr. , 70, of Athol, died Thursday, December 17, at Athol Memorial Hospital, after an illness.
Joe was born August 17, 1950, son of the late Henry A. Lucier, Sr. and the late Dorothy (Woodard) Lucier. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a dedicated husband and the best Papa ever. He loved the Boston Bruins, Old Orchard Beach and spending time with family and friends.
He leaves his wife of 19 years, Deborah (Miettinen) Lucier; a son, Alan Lucier of Maine; two daughters, Sarah Petrin and her husband, Nate of Athol and Nichole Wonkka and her husband, James of Orange; six grandchildren, Hannah Britt and her boyfriend, David of Athol, Skilah Britt of Athol, Nathan Petrin of Athol, Taylor Wonkka of Orange, Aubrey Petrin of Athol and Dakkota Wonkka of Orange; one brother, Gary Lucier and his wife, Barbara of Standish, ME; many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Cheryl Grindle Britt.
Calling hours will be held Monday, December 28, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Fiske-Murphy & Mack Funeral Home, 110 New Athol Rd., Orange. Burial with military honors will follow In Massachusetts Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen St., Winchendon. Everyone is encouraged to wear Bruins attire in honor of Joe’s love of the Bruins.
