BALDWINVILLE - Herbert H. Bosworth, Jr., 85 of 55 Highland Ave., Baldwinville, died Saturday, September 24, 2011 in the Heywood Hospital, Gardner.
He was born in Marlboro, NH, on January 2, 1926, the son of the late Herbert H. and the late Maxine A. (Goodell) Bosworth.
He served during WWII, Korean war in the Navy as a Pharmacists Mate.
He was a member of the VFW Post 905, American Legion Post 373 Baldwinville, U.S.S. Yosemite Association, Sampson Training Association-WWII Navy Vets Sampson, Templeton Council on Aging and Food Pantry, Templeton Golden Age Club, AARP-Gardner & National.
He was a Head Maintenance Engineer, employed by Mt. Wachusett Community College.
He enjoyed vegetable gardening, especially rhubarb, his lawn mower collection, being with his family and he loved his cat Sully.
He leaves his wife of 60 years: Mary E. (Wictoski) Bosworth, three daughters: Ellen G. Dack and her husband Douglas of Hubbardston, Gail E. Bosworth of Baldwinville, Jane K. Bosworth of Baldwinville; two sons: Thomas K. Bosworth of Baldwinville, Daniel J. Bosworth of Phillipston; two grandchildren: Erica Dack & Erin Dack; three sisters: Betty Plouffe-Sparks of Winchendon, Linda Hunt of Winchendon, Lucille Sommer of St. Petersburg, FL ; three brothers: Myles Bosworth of Winchendon, David Bosworth of Keene, NH, Larry Bosworth of St. Petersburg, FL; and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Monday, October 3, 2011 at 1:00 pm in the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen St., Winchendon.
There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in his memory to the Templeton Fire Department Rescue Squad P.O. Box 4, Baldwinville, MA 01436, or Templeton Council on Aging, P.O. Box 244, E. Templeton, MA 01438.
