Hillary Ann (Bartlett) Newsome, 28, of PA, formerly of Leominster, died Thursday, March 16, at home, after a brief illness.
Hillary was born August 23, 1988, in Leominster, daughter of Daniel and Ann (Hart) Bartlett. She graduated from Leominster High School in 2007 and received her Bachelor of Science degree from Fitchburg State University. Hillary was an ABA Tutor for autistic children. She first worked at the Messiah Lutheran Preschool as a preschool teacher. She then met her husband, SGT. Tyjuan Newsome, USMC, and moved to Jacksonville, NC where her husband was stationed with the Marine Corps. She continued her work as a preschool teach as well as an ABA Tutor in that area. SGT. Newsome and Hillary recently relocated to Pennsylvania.
In her younger years Hillary was an avid baseball player in the Leominster National Little League, and softball player in the Leominster Lassie League. She continued playing softball in the Women’s Summer League. After moving to North Carolina, she continued playing softball and kickball in various leagues on Camp Lejeune.
Hillary’s zest for life was contagious and it showed in her work with the many lives she touched while teaching and tutoring children. Because of her professionalism and dedication to each child, she improved their lives greatly.
Hillary had an amazing and beaming smile that would light up a room and warmed everyone’s hearts. She enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest each and every day. She loved her family and friends more than anything in the world.
Besides her parent, Dan and Ann Bartlett of Leominster, she leaves her husband of four years, Tyjuan Newsome. Her brother, Nicholas Bartlett of Leominster; her mother-in-law, Laurene Newsome of Salem, MA, several Aunts, Uncles, Brothers and Sisters-in-law, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends.
She was predeceased by her grandparents to whom she adored and was adored by; Starlin and Arlene Hart of Gardner, MA, and Wendell and Marion Bartlett of Lancaster, MA. She was also predeceased by her cousin, Eric Bartlett, whom she also adored.
Calling hours are Saturday, March 25 from 8:00 to 10:00 AM in Simard Funeral Home, 14 Walker St., Leominster. The funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 AM in Holy Family of Nazareth Church, 750 Union St, Leominster. Burial will follow in St. Leo’s cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Camp Sunshine, 35 Acadia Road, Casco, ME 04015; www.campsunshine.org, with tribute and memory of Hillary (Bartlett) Newsome. Hillary worked as a counselor at Camp Sunshine and was passionate about their cause.
