GARDNER - Hobart L. “Jack” Clark, Jr., 79 of Gardner, died Monday, February 22, 2021 in the Health Alliance at Baldwinville.
He was born in Gardner, on January 24, 1942, the son of the late Hobart L. Clark and the late Pearl V. (Slaney) Clark.
Hobart grew up in Hubbardston. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving on the USS Exultant - Aggressive Class Minesweeper.
He was a member of the Gardner Lodge of Elks where he served as Past Exalted Ruler and was a very active member of lodge. He was a member of the Gardner V.F.W. Post 905 and a member of the honor guard. He enjoyed walking and was frequently seen all over Gardner, he was always willing to assist and help in any way, a person who could always be counted on.
He leaves his brother in-law; Richard Faxon of Fort Myers, FL; four nieces, Kimberly (Faxon) Richard and her husband, Phillip "P.J." Richard of Baldwinville, Christina (Faxon) Cox and her husband James of Fort Myers, FL, Jennifer (Faxon) Ide and her husband Raymond of Westminster, Pamela (Mattson) LaRoche and her husband Doug of North Brookfield; his children, Valerie Richard, Tamera Whitehead, Frank Clark, Phillip Clark, Cheryl Slack & Steve Clark; many great nieces and nephews and many great great nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Virginia Matteson and Diana Faxon.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 4, 2021 from 10 am - 12 pm in the Mack Family Funeral Home, 105 Central St., Gardner. Burial with military honors will follow in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in his memory to Gardner Lodge of Elks, 31 Park St., Gardner, MA 01440.
