ATHOL - Ian Matthew Bigelow, 30, of 329 Beacon Street, Athol and formerly of Brookline, died unexpectedly on Sunday, June 19, 2011 at his home.
Ian was born in Boston on March 24, 1981, and was raised and educated in Brookline. He moved to Athol in 2007 and worked selling cars and valuables in the area. He was the caretaker to his grandmother while living in Athol and was an endearing father to his beloved three-year old son, Iandel.
He leaves his son, Iandel Ramos of Roslindale; his mother, Judith (Wolovick) Bigelow; two sisters, Holly Corvera of Athol, Jade Gallier of Brookline; two brothers, David Bigelow of Dedham, Demian Bigelow of CA; six nieces and nephews, Samantha Corvera and Nicholas Bertram of Athol, Micayla McRanor of Brookline, Shai and Adam Bigelow of Dedham, and Zachary Bigelow of CA.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Henry and Sophie (Shpiegelman) Wolovick.
Calling hours will be held Friday, June 24, 2011 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Fiske-Murphy & Mack Funeral Home, 110 New Athol Road, Orange. A celebration of Ian’s life will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 6:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in his memory to his son, Iandel Ramos, and may currently be sent in care of Ian’s sister, Holly Corvera, 329 Beacon Street, Athol, MA 01331.
