HAMPTON, NH – Irene Dorothy Allain, “Dot”, 90, formerly of Leominster, MA died peacefully on February 22, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.
Dot was a Leominster native, loving daughter, devoted sister, beloved aunt, and loyal friend. She graduated from Leominster High School and then devoted her life to her family. Dot enjoyed her travels throughout Europe, where she learned to speak many languages including German, Italian, Spanish and French. She loved music and will be remembered singing along to her favorite radio shows. Dot was an avid sports fan and followed the Red Sox, Celtics, and Bruins. Dot lived her life in a humble, selfless, caring, and simple way. She will always be in the hearts of her family as a special role model and a nurturing caretaker to her nieces and nephews.
Dot was one of ten children, born in Leominster to the late Calixte and Josephine (Collette) Allain on September 13, 1927. Dot is survived by her brother Robert Allain and her sister Pauline Allain. She was predeceased by her brothers: Clarence Allain and Raymond Allain and five sisters Juliette Lemire, Corinne Allain, Hilda Hensley, Helen Allain and Barbara Spinelli. Dot also leaves many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 2, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Cecilia’s Church, 170 Mechanic St., Leominster, MA. Burial will follow at St. Cecilia’s Cemetery.
