Irene J. Boccardy

ATHOL - Irene J. (Sylwestrak) Boccardy, 83 of 309 Fredette Street, Athol, died Monday, January 15, 2007, in the Athol Memorial Hospital, Athol. She was born in Gardner, on September 25, 1923, the daughter of the late John and the late Marianna (Wieczorek) Sylwestrak. Mrs. Boccardy was a Nurse, employed by Dr. O'Hara and working in Athol Memorial Hospital and Heywood Hospital. She was a member of the Athol-Orange Nursing Association. Irene was a communicant of Our Lady Immaculate Church. She enjoyed cooking and baking. She leaves her husband, Bruce N. Boccardy; two sons, Bruce Thomas Boccardy of Boston, Steven J.K. Boccardy of Royalston; two sisters, Wanda Renes of Gardner, Geneieve Aquino of Worcester; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Thomas Sylwestrak and by four sisters, Helen St. John, Jean Kubicki, Clara Grzejka and Vera Kuczka. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, January 18, 2007, at 10:00 am in Our Lady Immaculate Church, 192 School St., Athol. Burial will follow in Silver Lake Cemetery, Athol.
