Irene B. (Melanson) Barriere

LEOMINSTER - Irene B. (Melanson) Barriere, 103, of Leominster died Friday, December 19, 2014 in Sterling Healthcare, Sterling. Her husband Leonard Barriere died November 14, 1982. She was born in Athol, on December 29, 1910 the daughter of the late Cyrille and Celina (Richard) Melanson. She leaves a daughter, Elaine M. Nasal and her husband Eugene J. Nasal of Flat Rock Michigan; a son, Robert L Barriere and his wife Colleen K. Barriere of Proctor, Minnesota; she also leave a granddaughter, Caroline A. Nasal of Williamston Michigan; two step granddaughter's Russetta Barta and Nate Luna of Fort Sumner, New Mexico, Lacacia Toner and Chris Toner of Laurens, Iowa; one nephew, two nieces and two grand nieces and cousins. She graduated from Leominster High School 1929, she belong to the Ladies of St. Anne of St. Cecilia's Parish and the L' Union St. Jean the Baptiste. She worked at E. I. Dupont, Jayron and Union Products. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 10 AM in St. Cecilia's Church 170 Mechanic St., Leominster, MA. Burial will follow in St. Cecilia's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Monday, December 22, 2014 in the Simard Funeral Home, 14 Walker St., Leominster from 2 to 4 PM.
