Irene M. Ouellette

LEOMINSTER - Irene M. (Maillet) Ouellette, 79 of Leominster, died Saturday, July 18, 2009 in the Apple Valley Center, Ayer, MA. She was born in St. Norbert New Brunswick, Canada, on September 3, 1929, the daughter of the late Placide and the late Edna (Goguen) Maillet. She grew up and was educated in New Brunswick, Canada and moved to Leominster in 1960. Mrs. Ouellette was a Nursing Assistant in St. John, New Brunswick, Canada and also at Leominster Hospital for over 25 years. Along with her husband Albert J. Ouellette they lived in Palm Bay, Florida for several years after retirement moving back to this area in 2001. She was a longtime communicant of St. Cecilia's Church and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, flowers, gardening and being outdoors. She leaves three daughters; Lita M. Lavoie and her husband Dennis of Leominster, Rose S. Bashaw and her husband Richard of Leominster, Cathy M. Wade and her husband Tony of Leominster; one son, Rev. Donald C. Ouellette of Worcester; two sisters, Juliette Boucher of Coventry, RI, Jeannine Roach of Moncton, N.B., Canada; one brother, Alonzo Maillet of Leominster; four grandchildren, Thomas Lavoie of Wakefield, MA; David Lavoie and his wife Kelley of Leominster, Tyler Wade of Leominster and Cayla Wade of Leominster. She was predeceased by her Husband of 48 years, Albert J. Ouellette who died in 1998 and by nine brothers and two sisters. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at 11:00 am in St. Cecilia's Church, 180 Mechanic Street, Leominster. Burial will follow in St. Cecilia's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Monday, July 20, 2009, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Simard Funeral Home 14 Walker St., Leominster.
