LEOMINSTER---J.Robert E Brideau 85 of 292 Mechanic St Leominster died Wednesday November 3, 2010 in the Lifecare Center of Leominster after an illness. He was born August 22, 1925 the son of the late Peter Brideau and Ella (Albert) Brideau and was a lifelong Leominster resident. He leaves his wife of (58) Years, Argentine (Savoie) Brideau, Three sons, Robin J. Brideau and his wife Judith of Lunenburg MA, Richard C. Brideau and his wife Kris-Ann of South Hadley MA and Robert D. Brideau and his wife Lisa of Willis Texas. Four Daughters, Lou Ann Arquilla and her husband Marco of Leominster, Lisa Charette and her husband James of Hopkinton MA, Celeste Downey and her husband Ronald of Albany Oregon and Christine LeBlanc and her husband David of Winchendon MA. Four Brothers, Eugene Brideau, Roger Brideau and his wife Jeannette, Gilbert "Vernon" Brideau and Gerard "Dicky" Brideau, His three sisters, Lorraine Lacross, May Leventure and her husband Robert, Ann Marie Barba and Margaret Coughlin and her husband James. Fourteen grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. His two sisters Jeanne Landry and Geralda Perla pre-deceased him. Mr Brideau was a self employed contractor in the Leominster area. A 4th Degree Knight and Past Grand Knight of the Leominster Knights of Columbus Council 406, A Communicant of St Cecilia's Church where he served as a Eucharistic Minister, sang in the church choir and taught CCD for many years. He was also a member of the Montachusett Applecore Singers in Leominster. He enriched the lives of all those he loved through his music. He was a master wood smith, an avid golfer and drew great fulfillment and peace from his garden, Yet of all these things, his greatest masterpiece was the unconditional love he gave to his family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday November 6, 2010 at 11am in St Cecilia's Church 180 Mechanic St Leominster. Burial will follow in St Cecilia's Cemetery. There are no calling hours. At the request of the family please omit flowers. Donations in his memory can be made to the St Cecilia's Church Restoration Fund 180 Mechanic St Leominster MA.01453.
