J. Edmund "Eddie" Chiasson

ATHOL - J. Edmund “Eddie” Chiasson, 91 of 465 Fredette St., Athol, died Thursday, November 21, 2013 in the Quabbin Valley Healthcare, Athol, MA. He was born in Shippegan, New Brunswick, Canada, on May 26, 1922, the son of the late Henry and the late Albina (Blanchard) Chiasson, moving to Athol as a child to Athol as a child. He attended Athol schools graduating from Athol High School.  He was a dental technician in the Army during WWII.  He married Florence Piette in a double wedding ceremony with his brother Arthur and Rita (Duguay) Chiasson on May 25, 1946.  He owned and operated the Athol Dental Lab. He was a communicant of Our Lady Immaculate Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1187-Athol, a life member of the Franco American Club and the American Legion.   He loved spending time with his family at Panther Pond in Maine and Old Orchard Beach, Maine He leaves two daughters: Catherine A. "Cheesie" Dodge and her husband Gary, Cielle T. Chiasson: two brothers: J. Raymond Chaisson and his wife Irene of Jamaica Plains, J. Arthur Chiasson and his wife Rita of Athol; sister-in-law, Nancy Chiasson of Athol; three beloved grandchildren:  Erin Sophia Dodge of Brooklyn, NY, Grant Edmund Dodge of Standish, ME, Emily Kay Dodge of Boston; many nieces and nephews.  He also leaves his special dog friend Miko Chiasson. He was predeceased by his wife of 49 years:  Florence (Piette) Chiasson on February 23, 1996; his daughter Linda Jean Chiasson on December 27, 1970 and by his brother J. Willard "Guggy" Chiasson. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 25, 2013 at 12:30 pm in the Our Lady Immaculate Church, 192 School St., Athol.  Burial will be in the spring in Silver Lake Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Monday from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM in the Fiske-Murphy & Mack Funeral Home, 110 New Athol Rd., Orange, MA  01364. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in his memory to Athol Animal Control C/O Animals Fund, 280 Exchange Street, Athol, MA 01331.
