James R. Bailey,

ATHOL - James R. Bailey, Sr., 68 of 12 Paige St., Athol, died Sunday, September 1, 2013 in the UMass Memorial Medical Center - Memorial Campus, Worcester, MA. He was born in Greenup, KY, on September 23, 1944, the son of the late Richard W. Bailey and the late Alice (Bailey) Brouillet. James grew up in Greenup Kentucky and moved to Massachusetts, living in Fitchburg, Ashburnham and Gardner before moving to Athol 9 years ago.  He served in the Marine Corps from 1961 to 1963.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing mini golf and loved to ride his Harley. He leaves his wife of 49 years: Alice M.(Nadeau) Bailey; two daughters: Jeanna Stevens of Caribou, ME, Roberta Goodrich of Marianna, FL; two sons: James Bailey Jr. of Fitchburg, Donald Bailey of Athol; six grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren, expecting two more in November; a brother Ralph and many other brothers and sisters; many nieces & nephews.
