TEMPLETON- James R. Goodwin, 85, of Templeton, died Saturday, November 2, at Heywood Hospital. James was born January 10, 1934, in Morristown, VT, son of the late Harold and Laura (Marshall) Goodwin. James was a lifelong resident of Templeton. He worked as a mechanic for the Highway department in the City of Gardner until his retirement. Following his retirement, James continued to help others in anyway that he could. He and his family enjoyed many scenic road trips to Vermont reminiscing the old days. He cherished his time with his grandchildren. He leaves his wife of 65 years, Evelyn G.(Peacock) Goodwin; three daughters, Paula Diotalevi and her husband, Joseph of Leominster, Linda Hecker and her husband, Harold of Gardner, and Judy Shepardson and her husband, John of Winchendon; seven grandchildren, Lauren & Garren Diotalevi, Jessica Hecker & Nicole (Hecker) Bienvenu , Laurabeth, Johnny, and Michelle Shepardson; nine great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Laura Covey and Mae Gagnon. A graveside service will be held Saturday, November 9, at 10:00 A.M. in Pine Grove Cemetery in Templeton. Mack Family Funeral Homes, Lamoureux-Smith & Poliks Chapel, 105 Central St., Gardner, is assisting the family with arrangements.
