ATHOL - James A. King, 64 of 30 Elizabeth Street, died Monday, February 13, 2006 in the Athol Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Athol on December 26, 1941, the son of the late Arthur T. and the late Bernice (Osedavich) King.
He was a Tool Maker at the L. S. Starrett Company for many years before retiring.
He was a member of the Athol/Orange Lodge of Elks No. 1837, the North American Hunting Club and A.A.R.P. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed fishing, boating, and loved his dog "Misty". He enjoyed spending time with his family.
He leaves his wife of 26 years, Catherine Mary (Krusiewig) King, three daughters; Laura Melanson of Templeton, Debra Langlois of Raymond, NH, and Mary Jo Freemyer of Gardner; one step-daughter, Catherine Dirky of CA, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 17, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. in the J. Edward Murphy Funeral Home, 137 Main St., Athol. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery, Athol.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, February 16, 2006 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. in the J. Edward Murphy Funeral Home, 137 Main St., Athol, MA.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in his memory to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
