James "Jim" Leon Fredette

JAMES “Jim” LEON FREDETTE, 86, died peacefully in his home on July 8, surrounded by family. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Shirley and daughter Kathleen. Jim grew up in Athol, son of the late Elizabeth and Leon Fredette.  He was a talented athlete, a fun-loving story-teller and supportive friend and neighbor. A devoted husband and family man, he enjoyed 63 wonderful years of marriage with Shirley.  Together they raised their children in Athol and shared many good friends and memories.  After a successful career as an auto body shop manager, he retired on Cape Cod.  Those who knew him will remember him with a smile. He is survived by his children: Sandi Fredette, Steve and Doreen Fredette, and Michelle Fredette; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; as well as his sister Jeanne Hanson and his brother Richard Fredette. At the family’s request, funeral services will be private.
