GARDNER- James J. Pratt, Sr., 63, of Gardner, died Monday, August 27, in the VA Medical Center, West Roxbury, after an illness. James was born March 25, 1955, in Gardner, son of the late Joseph and Gloria (Gerrard) Pratt. He attended Gardner and Templeton schools. James served in the U.S. Army. He was an independent truck driver for many years. James was a talented handy-man and mechanic, coming to the aid of anyone who needed help. He leaves his son, James J. Pratt, Jr. and his wife, Miranda of Athol; his grandchildren, Noah, Dawson, and Breanna; his siblings, Robert Pratt and his wife, Doris of Gardner, Sandra Prouty and her husband, Terry of Rindge, NH, David Pratt and his wife, Chris of Hollis, NH, Alan Pratt and his wife, Avelina of Gardner, Kenneth and his wife, Arlene of Winchendon, and Marie Henry of Winchendon; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by one sister, Katherine Richard, and brothers, Gordon, Glen, and Mark Pratt. The funeral will be held Friday, August 31, at 12:00 P.M. at the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen St., Winchendon. There are no calling hours.
