Athol-James G. Spooner, 66, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at Athol Memorial Hospital.
He leaves his wife, Jacqueline (Quirk) Spooner; one daughter, Brianna Ramsey and her husband Daniel of Leominster; one son, Michael Spooner and his wife Meghan of Morgantown, WV; three grandchildren, Ethan and Vivien Ramsey and Bennett Spooner. He is also survived by three sisters, Jane Spooner and her husband Richard Bargeron of Shelburne Falls, Carol Spooner of Randolph, NJ and Lauren Wick and her husband Peter of Lanesborough, and many nieces and nephews.
James was born in Greenfield on August 9, 1955 a son of the late Ralph and Marilyn (Meyer) Spooner. He graduated from Mahar Regional High School and from Central New England College in Worcester, with a Bachelors in Civil Engineering. He worked for Rodney Hunt and American Tool. He was also a co-owner of Winchester Rolls and eRolls, Inc.
He enjoyed boating and snowmobiling in NH with his family and friends at Yacht Club Vista. He enjoyed watching The Red Sox and Patriots and kept an eye on the stock market. He was very proud of his children and loved becoming a grandfather.
James's funeral will be held on Monday, November 8, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. in the Fiske-Murphy and Mack Funeral Home, 110 New Athol Road, Orange, MA 01364.
Calling hours will be from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service.
Burial will be private.
