Jane (Ready) Ganley

GARDNER- Jane E. (Ready) Ganley, 73 of Gardner, MA and Cape Neddick, ME passed away Sunday after an illness. Born in Winchendon, MA in 1946, she was the only child of the late Martin T. Ready and Elinore M. (Hildreth) Ready also of Winchendon. She graduated from Murdock High school in 1964 and received a Bachelors degree in Occupational Therapy from Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation at Boston University. Throughout her career she treated patients compassionately at a number of hospitals, rehab facilities and nursing homes throughout the Central Massachusetts area. She was the devoted wife of Robert E. Ganley of Gardner, MA for 48 years. He was by her side when she peacefully passed. She is also survived by her three children, James P. Ganley of Gardner, MA, Joseph M. Ganley (Mary Liz Ganley) of Wellesley, MA and Kathleen M. Columbus (Phillip Chisholm) of Fitchburg, MA. She was the beloved Nana to Keira A. Columbus, and Maegan E. Columbus both of Fitchburg, MA and Margaret B. Ganley and Robert E. Ganley II of Wellesley, MA. She was a fixture on the sidelines of their sporting events and enjoyed digging into an impromptu arts and crafts project with them. She will be remembered by her sister in law Nancy (Ganley) Rose and her husband Bradford Rose of Amherst, NH and Joan (Ganley) Hanrahan and her husband Edward Hanrahan of South Windsor, CT, as well as nieces Erin McCormick and her husband Matthew McCormick of Vermont and Kim Rose of New Boston, NH and her nephews Corey Rose and his wife Marisol Rose of Northport, Florida, and Jeff Hanrahan and his wife Liz Hanrahan of Texas. Calling Hours will be held on Thursday, February 13, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Mack Family Funeral Homes, Lamoreux-Smith & Poliks Chapel, 105 Central Street, Gardner. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, February 14 at 11:30 A.M. at Holy Rosary Church 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. burial will follow at the Massachusetts Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen St., Winchendon.
