ATHOL - Janet L. (Moore) Duncanson, 67, of 81 Brattle St., Athol, died Tuesday, October 21, 2008 in the St. Vincent's Hospital in Worcester.
She was born in Natick on May 29, 1941, the daughter of the late Herbert and the late Marjorie (Vorce) Moore.
Mrs. Duncanson met her husband David at the tender age of seven and remained his best friend for the rest of her Iife.
Mrs. Duncanson graduated from Wellesley High School with the class of 1959. She attended North Eastern University as an X-Ray Technician. She worked at Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Wellesley, MA, and taught new technicians for the hospital. Mrs. Duncanson later worked at the Queens Hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Mrs. Duncanson ran a family business making leather goods and children's crafts with her husband David, her daughter Debra, and her son Duane. She enjoyed gardening and was an avid fan of the Boston Celtics and the Red Sox. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She leaves her husband of 44 years, David Duncanson; two daughters, Debra Roberto and her husband Kevin of Athol, Eva Gardner of Athol; one son, Duane Duncanson and his companion Rebeka Howes of Orange; three sisters, Nancy Reardon of NH, Jane Mooney of Athol, Linda Parsons of Sterling, VA; seven grandchildren, Ashlie Duncanson and her fiance Frank Visco of Athol, Kylie Duncanson, James Duncanson, all of Orange, Shelby Roberto and Hunter Roberto, both of Athol, Hope Sheldon of CT, Christopher Reimers of Gardner; one great grandson, Logan Sheldon of CT; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are private, and will be held at the convenience of the family.
There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to the American Diabetes Association, 330 Congress St., 5th Floor, Boston, MA 02210.
